En este 2024 se cumplen 20 años de actividad ininterrumpida del Programa de Antropología y Salud, circunstancia que celebramos con una nueva publicación, con textos de integrantes históricos y más recientes de dicho programa. La perspectiva antropológica junto con el método etnográfico fue produciendo y consolidando una línea de especialización que cristalizó en publicaciones y trabajos finales para obtener el grado, Licenciatura en Ciencias Antropológicas, o de posgrados, tesis de Maestría en Antropología de la Cuenca del Plata o Doctorado en Antropología, FHCE. El conjunto muy amplio de actividades y de producción académica en dicha línea se puede encontrar actualizado en nuestra página web. Si bien la referencia institucional ha sido la FHCE, Instituto de Antropología, en los últimos tiempos hemos tratado de avanzar en la integración multidisciplinaria, no solo de personas sino también de otros abordajes y perspectivas teóricas. Se integró la historia a la base existente de Antropología Social y se complejizó el estudio del campo de la salud al contemplar de manera más puntual la Salud Mental. En los diez trabajos que componen el contenido de la publicación se encuentran claves del largo recorrido y la construcción de un punto de vista teórico-metodológico sobre objetos que a priori no tendrían obvia relación con la salud o la enfermedad. Hablamos de un mundo relacional donde la mirada antropológica es la que «descubre» el vínculo. Más allá de la diversidad de temas, se destacan similares recursos metodológicos, el método etnográfico con estudios de campo de duración variable, complementados con la consulta no solo de bibliografía sino también de documentos, tesis, artículos, sobre aspectos de salud que vamos abordando. La meta es justamente entender los temas también en su complejidad médica, evitando interpretaciones esencialmente culturalistas. Con esta publicación y sus capítulos sobre objetos diversos (según investigaciones originales, individuales y colectivas) buscamos promover una inmersión en un universo que ya descubrimos, pero donde no agotamos el inventario de todas las aproximaciones posibles.

Nuestro país carece de una normativa que contemple y regule cada uno de los supuestos por los cuales puede finalizar el contrato de trabajo. En muchas ocasiones son situaciones que concluyen en controversias entre trabajador y empleador que deben ser resueltas por la justicia laboral. La presente obra tiene como principal objetivo sistematizar y analizar cada uno de los modos de extinción del contrato de trabajo, desarrollando sus principales características y efectos. Se trata desde los modos de extinción más comunes como la renuncia, el abandono de trabajo, el despido, los despidos especiales, la rescisión de los contratos a plazo, así como también otros modos de extinción menos frecuentes como la condena penal al trabajador, la ausencia del trabajador, la muerte del trabajador y/o del empleador, la rescisión por mutuo acuerdo, los eventos de caso fortuito o fuerza mayor, entre otros. El análisis procura relevar la doctrina y jurisprudencia actualizada sobre cada uno de los temas, de forma de complementar los vacíos que nuestra normativa deja sobre cada uno estos asuntos.
