Esta obra aborda una temática esencial para construir un sistema legal más igualitario garantizando los derechos de todas las personas, independientemente de su género. Cada uno de los trabajos plantea una visión global y actualizada del derecho desde una perspectiva de género, teniendo en cuenta temas como el concepto de justicia, la realidad social y jurídica, la evolución jurisprudencial y la inteligencia artificial. La perspectiva de género es fundamental porque garantiza el principio de igualdad y no discriminación entre las personas. Al considerar las diferencias de género, se busca eliminar prejuicios y tratar a todos por igual. Estudiar el derecho desde esta perspectiva contribuye a proteger los derechos de las mujeres y las minorías, reconociendo la diversidad así como las distintas formas de violencia y opresión. Permite analizar críticamente las relaciones sociales cuestionando las normas, roles y estereotipos, visibilizando las desigualdades existentes y promoviendo la eliminación de barreras y estereotipos de género que limitan las oportunidades y el acceso a recursos y servicios.
La presente obra estudia el régimen jurídico aplicable al contrato de seguro con función de garantía, a través de dos figuras: el seguro de caución y el seguro de crédito. El libro pretende presentar al profesional, académico o estudiante un panorama de los principales aspectos de la parte general y de la parte especial de los seguros de daños patrimoniales de la Ley de Seguros n.º 19.678 («LCS») y un estudio específico y exhaustivo del régimen jurídico aplicable al seguro de caución y al seguro de crédito.
El Instituto de Derecho Civil Salas I y IV de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de la República resolvió realizar esta obra en la que se analizan temas de gran importancia teórico-práctica y se da respuesta a la necesidad de contar con un libro que abarca todo el programa de la unidad curricular «Infancia, Adolescencia y Familia». En la misma intervienen la mayoría de los docentes de dicho Instituto, en calidad de autores o colaboradores.
